Dual enrollment

Dual enrollment in myPHSC is a service that is available to both public and private high school students. It provides a student a taste of college life, while allowing them to earn free college credits. These credits may be applied to a high school graduation requirement or to a college degree.

To become a dual enrollment student, a student must have an unweighted high school grade point average of 3.0. A student can also earn a technical credit if they meet prerequisites.

Students can register in person or online. Public school students can register online, while private school students will need to contact their high school counselor. PHSC has a Dual Enrollment online portal that allows students to sign up, review their course options, and access their email.

The Dual Enrollment online system has a planning worksheet that is designed to help dual enrollment students choose courses. Students can choose from a list of eligible courses and then fill out the planning worksheet to determine the best possible course selections.

During the fall and spring semesters, DE students can enroll in a maximum of 16 credit hours. In the summer term, the number of courses is limited to seven credit hours.

During the online registration process, a student must submit an application form, official high school transcripts, a current PERT placement test score, and an unweighted GPA. If a student does not meet these requirements, the course(s) will be denied.
